Writing posts that readers crave, every month - Part 3
What do readers of your blog or website crave? They crave up to date information on real estate. In part 3 in our series of “Making Your Website or Blog a Destination” we are going to give you some post idea concepts thatthey crave. You see they want to have their pulse on the real estate market just like you do. Users of the Internet demand up to date information so they can feel confident in the decision they are making. So you have two choices:
- Give them the information they want and they will stay or
- Don’t give them information and they will leave
I suggest you choose choice number one and if you do the rest of this post is for you. If you want choice number two there is nothing we can do to help you.
Posts that Readers Crave
These are posts that you can write about each and every month. Some you can write about every week and if you really want to could even write every day. You keep them coming back by and create a destination by creating a place they can find what they want.
- Sales Statistics - Yes we have written about this one in the past. No post is guaranteed to keep readers
- New Developments - Nothing is better than writing about a new development in town. Being the first is preferred as you are then breaking the news. You can then update the page or write new posts as the development proceeds. Always make a call to action to contact you for showings or other information on the development.
- Market Updates - This is different then sales statistics. Write about what is our isn’t happening in the market. Do yo see homes in a certain area of town selling? Is an area of town the place for investors? These kinds of regular opinion posts give the readers an insight into who you are.
The key with these three types of post is not to just do them but hang your blogging hat on them. If you don’t like all three and only like one that is fine just make sure you do it to the extreme. You want to be someone who is known for delivering certain kinds of information. These three topic areas allow you a broad range of appeal to both buyers and sellers. If you can make your posts consistent enough people will keep coming back to their favorite real estate destination on the Internet which will be your site! Take some time and think about what you like the most and write consistently on that each and every month.
