Pick the right words to advertise on with Google
Picking the right words to advertise on Google is quite easy with their keyword tool. Now we have talked about keywords and how to find them on your own website but today we want to talk about finding words, real estate words, with the Google tool that competitors aren’t yet advertising on and yet are being searched by your future buyers and future sellers. I want everyone to go and find words like the chart above shows. These are words that have search volume but have little to no competition on them. So how do you go about finding these words? The Google keyword tool and a little bit of innovative thinking will lead you in the right direction.
Google’s Keyword Tool
Google’s keyword tools is my favorite price, free. You can access this in the tools section of Google Adwords. If you want free help on Google Adwords make sure you sign up for our free Google Adwords Report. The tool has been updated to show the user how many searches are done on a particular term. Google used to show you a bar as far as how many searches were done and it was on a low, medium, high type of bar chart. Now Google actually shows you the number of searches much like our favorite word tracking tool. The tool is straight forward in that you type a word or phrase and then it comes up with suggestions for you.
The key is to look for words or phrases that are commonly called “low hanging fruit” meaning that they aren’t as obvious to many but still generate traffic and conversions.
Low Hanging Fruit
We have talked about “Fighting the Fight you can win” on Google Adwords and this tool will help you do that. You want to look for the words that meet show up as:
- Low to no advertisers
- Any kind of search volume
You probably won’t find words that are searched on 10,000 times a month with no advertisers on but you will find ones that do have searches every day and have no advertisers. Take the screen shot above which shows two particular phrases:
- fresno ca mls
- fresno ca realtors
Both of these have searches are literally searched on every single day and yet have little to no advertisers on them. These searches are people looking for help in either finding a realtor or the MLS (which of course Realtors have).
Now these aren’t available in every area but there are plenty of searches available in every area that are niche and represent people who are looking for help in real estate.
So what niche words can you think of that might be searched on? Try checking them out and find out what Google says.
