This tool, recently released by Google looks like an enhanced version of their trends tool.  Google Insights though gives some great data for some lower volume word searches which trends never seemed to do.

Carefully using this tool you can find some hidden jewels of keywords that you might not have yet uncovered.  With their “Rising Searches” feature you may be able to jump start some content into your blog and website and take advantage of traffic that is still yet to come.

This is probably one of the coolest features.  These are words that are suggested that have had “significant growth in a given time period, with respect to the preceding time period”.  My gut tells me that these will be overlooked by the majority of marketers online so these are where you will have huge opportunity.
