Running Against the crowdHave you ever noticed that moving in the opposite direction of a crowd can be difficult but often take you where you want to be? You see crowds aren’t always right. They take the path of least resistence and as a result they end up somewhere that not everyone wants to be.

Have you ever noticed what a place looks like after a crowd has left? A crowd leaves a place dirty, trashed, and unpleasant. The places that a crowd doesn’t touch are left clean, untouched, and a pleasure to be in.

Where do you want to be?

Which place would you rather be, the land of trash and waste or the untouched and pleasant area? The pleasant area isn’t the easiest to get to but hopefully you want to be there and enjoy. On the Internet, and particularly in real estate, agents are continually told that paid advertising with Google Adwords is not worth their time, energy, and investment. We of course don’t believe that and believe that those who choose to grasp and understand pay per click advertising will be rewarded and those that don’t will be with the masses and left with only trash to pick up.

Where is the future of Internet marketing?

Am I suggesting that you only do paid advertising on the Internet? I am by no means suggesting that any real estate professional only depend on pay per click advertising but it should by all means be a portion of your online business. Pay per click advertising with programs like Google Adwords is one of the few systems on earth that allows you only pay for someone who actually “voted” for your ad by clicking on it.  Most systems charge clients regardless of the outcome and have no way to track the results. Pay per click advertising on the other hand can track each click, each sign-up, and each particular customer. Wouldn’t you like to know where every dollar of your internet marketing budget went?

Go against the crowd with pay per click advertising

When my brother and I started using pay per click advertising on the Internet for our real estate company over 5 years ago almost no one was doing it and the ones that were didn’t do it very well. 5 years later we are still one of the few who choose to do pay per click advertising to get leads for our real estate team. May agents still don’t want to do pay per click advertising while some of the biggest companies known are using pay per click ads to get leads and sell them to agents. We have spoken about these companies before one of them being realtor.com.

So if it is good enough for companies to use to generate leads and sell them to real estate professionals why isn’t it good enough for real estate professionals? Many say that real estate agents can’t, won’t and aren’t capable of doing it. I say that they are wrong and real estate professionals can do their own pay per click ads.

In a matter of weeks we will be having an entire series on pay per click advertising leading up to the release of a new system we have to help real estate professionals do their own pay per click advertising. In the mean time ask yourself:

“Do I really want to follow the crowd?”
