12 Month Guarantee for Success in 2009
I know what some people may be thinking “Didn’t they just write “How to Go Broke in Real estate?”". In fact we did and we spoke about how if you do the exact same thing that you are doing now then you will have a 2009 that looks quite a bit like 2008 and you won’t be happy at all. With all of the media surrounding the financial markets all we have heard is the following(I am sure you can relate):
- Loans will be tougher to get
- Real estate will be bad
- Banks are going to be even harder to deal with
Those points are well taken and they are probably going to become true but there is not much we can do about things that are out of our control. What we can do is change what we are doing and how we are marketing. So let’s look at what we can all do so we can guarantee success in 2009. Let’s not sit around let’s cover some ground on what we can do to be successful.
Do Marketing
All across the country with have been speaking with agents and we have noticed there are two types of agents. They are:
- The ones who are cutting everything and hoping to make it through ”till the market gets better” - we say that these agents are running the “Hope” business model.
- The ones who are committed to generating more leads so they don’t have to worry about which transactions succeed and which transactions fail.
So which agent are you going to be? By the way before you answer only one of those agents will make it. Do you have your answer? Only agent number 2 will make it. Sorry to burst some peoples bubble but if you don’t have new leads you have NO leads.
So what are some marketing ideas you can try? Here is a list that could keep you busy the entire 2009.
- Start a blog
- Update your blog 1 a day every business day for 2009
- Update your website with new information every week
- Try Pay Per Click Advertising
- Do an open house 1 a month (you would be surprised at the results)
- Hire a real estate coach - it is amazing when you pay someone what you get
- Invest in yourself - take classes on real estate topics or ideas you don’t know
- Start a farm - Yes farming still works and you can do it digital or create a regular farm
- Get someone to hold you accountable - Someone who won’t let you slack off
They easy temptation will be to pick the easy ones out of this list. Picking the ones you are most scared of will take you to the level of success that you want to.
Remember you have choices regardless of the market. The key thing is to know that you are the one in control and not the market, wall street, or what happens in lending. We used the same marketing items above to get out of the 1 car garage we started our real estate company in. I just found this site and see it is a good one to continue my learning and keeping my motivation levels up. Knowing what works and what is happening in the market and how others explain the market helps me when I am with the public.
