Update your website and Blog with School Data
Whenever we are helping real estate professionals learn more about the topic of making their websites stand out among the thousands of competitors in their local market, we always talk about content. Differentiating your website with content is one of the MOST powerful ways to demonstrate market expertise.
Besides putting up content about cities and neighborhoods, we get asked “What about school information?”. Joe and I always take a moment before responding because there are complications when putting up information on schools, like:
- Information on school quality changes regularly
- Boundaries for schools can change
- Special programs within schools that may be attractive to some can be removed or changed
These issues and more make me nervous about telling other people to post about schools, because we don’t want to see them held liable for posting misinformation (even if unintentional). Now, there is a player in the game that has had the data we need, but is making it more accessible!
Education.com
Long Beach Schools
Education.com has put together a widget you can use to display on your website or blog so you can easily display school information on a map for your local area. This is a serious value add for your online presence. Now, you don’t have to update your site for changes to the local schools as the widget can help you to stay on top of everything. Try it out for your local area, and then do a blog to make people aware of the new functionality!

Couldn’t agree more. School situations rank pretty high on most peoples lists. This widget is a perfect solution!! I’m going to let my good friend (who works for a realtor) know about this. Thanks for the heads up!
