Get more luck with online marketing
For those that have seen us speak before, you know that Joe and I started our real estate brokerage in a 1 car garage in the City of Carson. It wasn’t glamorous as it was too hot in the Summer and too cold in the Winter (for those in other states, probably not that cold
). We had so few leads that we could count them on less than 2 hands. It certainly was not the glamour of real estate that we envisioned, but we were free from the corporate shackles and were happy that we could work on our own.
As we worked away on our marketing online we started to see some progress. The lead count increased, and the escrows were opening (and closing). It was a nice feeling. 5+ years ago doing online marketing for real estate was still relatively unheard of and most said it wouldn’t work. Now, with our team consistently operating at over $20,000,000 in annual production we have often been referred to as “lucky”.
We know many of you out there this year have been experiencing some great success with your online marketing and probably many in your office are referring to you as “lucky”. For those that have heard the “your lucky” phrase and hopefully for those unfortunate one who have said it, here is a quote from Thomas Jefferson:
“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it”
Trying something new like marketing your real estate business online isn’t an easy first step to make, and it does take some work. We want each real estate agent out there to have as many leads for your business as you would like. We certainly hope that you have many more leads than we had in the garage.

What a concept. Great article!
With newspapers loosing it both with advertising and depth of reach, using the internet is a no brainer.
I agree it takes a lot of time to learn the subtle nuances but well worth it.
New marketing ideas and concepts are emerging daily.
