Two Activities to Generate More Escrows Now
I am of course a HUGE fan of getting more traffic to websites. Hopefully you know by now that Joe and I want your websites and blogs to have a veritable flood of people every day coming to your blogs eager to contact you.
As much as we both love traffic (and leads) it is imperative that we do something with all of those leads! It’s early here in 2009 so we wanted to make sure to address this issue. Focusing on leads and traffic are great, but you need to focus on conversion! Seriously, if you are generating 50,60, 80, or even 100+ leads a month and you don’t have any escrows it’s not going to do any good to keep bringing in more leads.
What’s the problem?
When you start to market online, you have no traffic or leads so this becomes your primary focus (as it should be). Along the way though you might lose sight that you need to turn these elements of traffic and leads into actual business, otherwise it’s just a very expensive hobby.
Let’s focus on just two areas where we can make some improvements so we can turn leads into escrows.
- Phone Calls - Sure you may be calling them once, but that isn’t good enough. Review some of the posts we have one on Buyer Scripts so you can really get some good results on those first phone calls. If you get to leave a message leave one that is intriguing so they call you back. If you make 8 calls over 8 weeks you will be light years ahead of the competition (it really works) and you will have more appointments in the next 60 days than you can handle.
- E-mail follow ups - When people request information on your website they need help. They may not know exactly what help they need at first, but they are trying to research so help them with it. Create a follow up e-mail campaign using GetResponse, Aweber, or just use TopProducer so you can easily follow up with a huge volume of leads with a simple click of a button.
No need to get fancy and create a huge long list of action items, just focus on the above two areas and you will have more escrows in the next 60 days. At the same time you won’t be losing focus on your daily online marketing activies (blog posts, new website content, maintaining pay per click ads) but putting an emphasis on following up with those great leads via the phone and e-mail will help you to get off to a great start in 2009.

These are indeed some good tips. One other activity that I’ve found success with is by sending monthly “What am I up to?” letters and cards to my network. Just a friendly physical reminder that I’m thinking about them and ready to serve their needs.
It’s helped to make my January 2009 one of my best months in the past two years!
