Information is great, being helpful is awesome, asking for what you want is priceless. I am always surprised when my brother and I review a real estate agent’s website, via our free website tune-up, and find an overwhelming source of quality content but very few places where they actually ask the consumer to work with them or provide them with additional information.

Here is the thing. If you are providing the consumer, your next potential customer, with the information that they are looking for, it is your right to ask them for information. I am going to go as far as saying that if you don’t ask them for their information you aren’t doing your job as a real estate agent.

Don’t ask them only once ask them twice or even three times

Have you ever been at a party where you asked someone for information or their name at a party and they didn’t quite hear you so you had to repeat yourself? You had no problem repeating yourself or asking them again right? So why not ask a visitor more than once for their information?

On every page of your website or within your blog posts ask the visitor for their information in exchange for additional information that they want and need.

For example:

  • At the beginning of the page or blog post give them what they are looking for but after about 25-33% through the post or web page ask them to fill out an additional form or click a link to get more information from you and on that page ask for their information.
  • Always make it clear on every single page or blog post that you would like to keep them up to date on what is happening in the real estate market but you need more information from them in order to do so.
  • Make it easy for people to call you and let them know that you are happy to speak with them. Yes despite the Internet people will call so make sure they know that they can call you and reach you.

When you provide value to your regular visitors and readers they are more than happy to help you with what you do. The key is to give them a chance to help you by asking them for their information and providing them with even more value then they would get just by visiting.

So take action and ask for what you want. I promise you that you will get more leads, more business, and have more fun by asking for what you want then by not asking at all.
