For those of you on XM Radio, I invite you to consider adding channel 041 to your presets.  It’s a station dubbed “Hair Nation“.  It plays some of the greatest collections of music of all time.  Greatest, that is, if you like such bands as Poison, White Snake, Guns N’ Roses, Firehouse and more.

They play just absolute classic songs, including some of the biggest monster ballads of all time.  When you dial into Hair Nation, you just can’t help but turn the music up a few notches, put on your shades, slide the moon roof back and drive.  With consistent hits back to back, you might just ditch some of the other presets you have on your radio.

Tuning into Hair Nation, you know that you are bound to hear a great monster hit.  Regardless of the time of day,  you can be assured that something great will come up.  Now, when you think about your blog, do your visitors know they will get a hit when they open up their web browser?

Is your blog so compelling that people can’t help but tell their friends to tune in?

Is each post so exciting that each visitor just can’t help but click to see what’s coming next?

If your blog isn’t this exciting then it might be time to turn it up and notch and make some noise.  Get the crowd on their feet and tuning in to your blog station.  Here are a couple of ways you can get more people tuning in.

  • Series Post - Not just any topic will do.  Be a bit out there and come up with something insane.  Maybe it’s a series on “Why someone shouldn’t buy a home” in your market.  The crazy part will be when people don’t identify themselves in that group and realize that they actually are a buyer!
  • Get a Guest to Post - Only something big will do.  Think of fireworks on stage.  Maybe you can reach out to your Mayor or an executive of a major business in your area.  Get them to speak about the real estate market from their perspective to share with your readers.  Bonus points if you record it and share the audio version as well.

Now only a few of the bands featured on Hair Nation are really cranking today (think Bon Jovi and Poison) because they have made efforts to adapt and to follow up their monster acts with more innovation.  Once you get people tuning in, keep your new found fans by making sure you release some more great hits.
