Farm once and Forget it…right?

Farm once and Forget it…right?

There a select group of real estate agents in each city that are extremely successful farmers.  Whether they dominate 1 neighborhood or a couple they are very consistent about knowing the market activity in their area and staying in touch with the residents of those neighborhoods.  What do you think their answer would be if you asked them the following question? Do you think I could be a successful farmer by just mailing 1 time to a neighborhood? At first I am sure they would look at you in disbelief...

What happened at Internet Lead Generation?

What happened at Internet Lead Generation?

Last week we taught for 8 hours on Internet Lead Generation. The goal that we set for everyone who attends is to have everyone closing a minimum of 12 closed sales from their online presence. Instead of us telling you how it went we thought we would let DJ tell you about how it went since we were at his office. Want to make sure to attend our next seminar? If you subscribe to the blog we will keep you posted on when and where we are teaching next. We have another event coming up shortly in the Orange...

Have No Fear

Have No Fear

No Fear is a clothing and lifestyle company that pioneered different style t-shirts in the 1990’s.  Their edgy quotes on shirts made you think differently and challenged the traditional norm that had been established in the surfing and sports industry.  One of my favorites quotes (and a shirt that I proudly wore) read: “I’m younger than you, faster than you, and I practice while you sleep. No Fear” Somehow this reminds me of the current Internet marketing revolution that...

Attract the Customers You Want with the Right Keywords

Attract the Customers You Want with the Right Keywords

Everybody seems to think they know what keywords are about and everyone seems to have a different opinion about what keywords do or do not do for your website. Let’s be clear that you have to write for people first and then for the search engines. If you don’t do this you will be disappointed with your results for sure. What exactly are keywords and how can you use them? Keywords are extremely important when you have decided to do pay per click advertising. Some bloggers even target specific...

Real Estate Marketing that prevents you from extinction

Real Estate Marketing that prevents you from extinction

I was watching Jurassic Park last weekend and oddly enough it reminded me of real estate. These powerful animals roamed the earth for millions of years, yes with some evolution, but with little change.  Eventually, as we know, the dinosaurs became extinct.  Sadly, I don’t think there is a John Hammond out there working on bringing them back either.  Some died in the tar pits while others could NOT adapt to an environment that radically changed. We have been experiencing some radical change...

Being in the Google Top 10 Means Nothing

Being in the Google Top 10 Means Nothing

That’s right, for all that work you put in optimizing your pages over the most competitive keywords, it means absolutely nothing.  It doesn’t matter if you are #1 and there are 3,000,000 more people behind you in the SERPs, it just doesn’t mean anything at all.  In fact it may give you bragging rights around town and may even feel good to say, but what is it actually doing for you? Before Matt Cutts and the other powers to be at Google stop reading (at least that is my wishful...

Why Realtors Need to Partner with Vendors to Succeed

Why Realtors Need to Partner with Vendors to Succeed

Real Estate professionals and vendors (lenders, title representatives, etc) have often been lone rangers in the market place.  They conveniently meet with each other when there is a specific need and then go back to “business as usual” trying to chase down more business. In this 30 minute round table discussion, we discuss with Christian Stefferud how vendors and real estate professionals can work together to achieve success in this market.  If you are a vendor, you will also learn...

Breakdown…no breakthrough

Breakdown…no breakthrough

Tom Cruise spoke these famous words in the movie Jerry Maguire.  When his character realizes that he needs fewer clients, instead of more money, to feel fulfilled he starts a long journey that ultimately leads him to achieving success and happiness. As we progress with our development of our online marketing efforts whether it be through a website, blog (or both) we often get to the point of breakdown.  Some of the symptoms of that breakdown may include the following: Lots of hours with no apparent...

Contact Me..PLEASE!

Contact Me..PLEASE!

When real estate agents start their blog or website I often see the anticipation of getting that first lead be so overwhelming that they just want to scream! Monitoring their web reports they know people are visiting, but for some reason no one is contacting them.  To get more contacts out of your website or blog you need to make it easier on your visitors! Here are a few ideas to make it easier on your customers to contact you. Phone Number Now contrary to most people’s belief that displaying...

Why Truilia Voices should be a real estate professionals last resort

Why Truilia Voices should be a real estate professionals last resort

I have one question for everyone “Would you rather build equity in your own asset or that of someone else?“.  Think about your answer and also note this is the same question we ask many would be first time home buyers so they can see that renting is only building wealth for someone else. So if you would rather be the owner instead of the renter why do so many real estate agents flock to Trulia voices? Trulia is an aggregator of real estate listings(the ones real estate professionals...
